I remember getting a call telling me of her death and the terrible accident I was in such a shock all I could do was go to
my room and cry knowing not to question God and what he does I just ask him to send me comfort for I couldn't
understand WHY? Why Sara she was such a special person she always delighted you with a smile never once did I see
her upset about anything. We shared many times together in band and her leadership influenced alot of people to do good
and succeed. She was a great person to talk to she always helped me with my some chemistry from during tutorials. I was
watching a previous band tape and I saw her it just broke my heart that she wasn't still here with us marching and sharing the
fun. She was truly a great person and will always be missed... I love you SARA! Say hello to my family for me :)
I'll see you in Heaven
To the family~~ Stay strong for he knows how much you can bear..

Sara was a great friend of mine. I heard about her death through my best friend. She said she had been in a car accident.
All I could think of is she ok. When I found out she had passed away, I lost it because I felt guilty because I hadn't talked
to her because I had recently moved. Sara meant a lot to me and I miss her dearly. We had started becoming really close
friends during our junior year and then I had to move. I felt bad because I didn't get to talk to her, but I hope to see her
again some day. Sara was a very good person and I thank the family for building this site. It was a very sweet thing to do.
It has helped me realize that life is short so live the most of it. I am dedicating my Senior year to her and everything I do is
in her memory.
Sara, I love you!!!!

Dear Sara,
It has been three to four months since you died and it has been hard for many people. When I heard of the news that you
had been in a car accident and that you had died, I could not believe it. I thought it was a joke, which was not a fuuny one.
I am so sorry that you had such a short time on earth but you lived it to the best. You were so smart and had so much going
for you. You had leadership skills and you were great in sports. I can remember you in band and it seemed that I had all the
same classes with you. You were always around and it seems weird that you are not. But at least you are in a better place
were you happy. You are remembered and love, the class of 2001 will never forget you.

One of God's most perfect Angels sent down from heaven to shine, that's who Sara was.
God used Sara as Sara allowed herself to be used by God. As Serigio Jackson said
"Everything happens for a reason and who are we to question God?" God had a plan for Sara
and his plan was to let others know about him through her, and that is what she did. Her
passing away shouldn't bring us down, it should lift us up. You know that Sara is in HEAVEN
rejoicing with the Angels. No matter what, Sara will always be remembered by the wonderful
Class of 2001 and when we walk across the stage we will not only be walking for us, we
will be walking for Sara too. I will miss her in Softball and Volleyball.
To Sara's family, keep holding on because joy cometh in the morning light and that is when
we will see Sara floating on her cloud in Heaven.
I Love You Sara!!!!!!!!!!

To The Kirkland Family:
I remind my kids that we are all on loan. God has put us here for a reason. When that
reason has been fulfilled, he will return for us.
As Jesus comforted the Disciples in John 14: 1-4 he reminds them that "I go to prepare
a place for you, and if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you
to be with me". (NIV) We might not necessarily understand why he comes, when he comes and
how he comes, but we must know and find comfort in knowing that he is coming back.
By human standards Sara's life was cut short. "She was so young". But God's calendar and
clock don't look the same as ours. To God Sara was probably far beyond her earthly years.
To the Family - find strength over the next few weeks in Sara's memories and find strength
in the joy of knowing that God is awesome and he does not make mistakes.
My life over the past few years has caused my theme song to be "We Will Understand It Better,
By And By".
I pray God's blessings on you today and always. May you be comforted by the holy spirit
throughout this holiday season.

SARA,
I miss you dearly. I miss the times we used to share going down the hall laughing.
Laughing for no particular reason at all.You always had an impact on people to keep them
smiling even though we were having problems. I'm sure you had them too, but you never seemed
to let them show. When I heard of the incident I was kind of unsure about the whole thing.
When I realized that it was reality and not a dream I was heartbroken. You were so sweet to
everyone, I felt as if this shouldn't have happened to you. You were like an Angel sent down
for a purpose. I guess it isn't so bad that you are gone, you can just say that you've done
what needed to be done and, "You Finished Early!" Everything happens for a reason, and it
wasnt punishment "You Just Finished Early!" Every task you were set out to do you always had
time to finish. Now you have time to rest because "You Finished Early!" I just wanted to say
that you are missed dearly and there is always a special place in!
my heart for you. Say hi to my Mommie for me, and I Love You!!!

gone...but in a safe place in which you look upon all those that loved you and remember
you...I turly miss seeing you in the hallway and just saying hi to you...remember regional's...
when we went to eat at Chili's...we had such a blast there...talking about all those
little thing's...guy's, parents, work, school, and of course that cute waiter we had...I miss
you dearly Sara...and to her family, Sara was the best and most wonderful as a daugther,
freind, and sister...she was a role model for me and I still sometimes sit in class and
just think of her...sometimes just to even see a picture of her or hear her name brings
a tear to my eye's...but then again i remember and think to myself what a wonderful friend
she was to me...Sara you will always be remembered by all those who loved you very much and

When I first heard of Sara's death, I was paralyzed. I couldn't believe it. I didn't want
to believe it. I didn't understand how or why. I was so confused. Just earlier this year we
had talked about our summer mission trips we'd both be going on. I was so excited about the
call God had put on our lives, she understood the feeling. Two weeks until my trip to Trinidad,
I get a call of the what happened. All I could do was cry. I began to ask God why, knowing I
should never question anything. I was so confused. My parents were so supportive and had to
continue to remind me to pray and seek God in all of this. I wanted answers. Then He gave
them to me, He reminded me of proverbs 3:5; "trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean
not on your own understanding, in all your ways aknowledge Him and He will direct your path."
The most amazing thing happened, at the funeral an alter call was given. Like Christ her life
was given so that others may recieve. It was the most humble thing I had ever witnessed.
I cried and cried and cried realizing that her life wasn't in vain. As human I wanted her
back here with us, but I was proud to be her friend and sister-in christ. On my trip God
gave me a peace about the whole thing. I shared her testimony with people across the U.S.
as well as some in Trinidad. I gave my all to sharing Christ with others and knew that she
did the same thing. I'd like to say thank you to her family for staying strong and trusting in
God. I had the opportunity to pray with her mom, Thanx!!!!!- Myranda Hinguanzo

Hey,
I heard about Sarah's death like a few months ago and I just wanted to say that it broke
my heart. I wrote a song deciated to her letting her and everyone else know some things.
I hope everyone enjoys this song as much as i did writing it. This song will be on my cd
just for her. I don't really know Sara that well at all I just heard about her from my
ex-boyfriend and that just sent this feeling cuz, I know what she's going threw cuz i got
into a serious car accident on my sweet 16 birthday and I almost could have had died but,
I know that God has a place for everyone in this time. Here's the song, if u have any

we still love her as she watches over us.
"She's an angel "
Intro- ( ambulance talks as whispering of people round the accident)
V1- an unfortunate accident happened their voices get weaker as her eyes began to close. Her
heart became a whisper to her soul as God takes her in his arms Everyone lounger's to get threw
the heart break she has caused.
Because.
Chorus-She's just a child with unborn dreams that shattered at the crash of the car. Her soul
rest upon the world. She's an angel free to fly threw out the heaven's as she watch's over
the people she loves while she is alive in their hearts.
V2- They remove her body from the car as it gets cold and dark inside her body. The angels
comfort her as Sara knows she'll see everyone soon. Her bedroom stays still with not an object
or finger to be touched as a sign above the door says "Welcome Home."
Chorus-She's just a child with unborn dreams that shattered at the crash of the car. Her soul
rest upon the world. She's an angel free to fly threw out the heaven's as she watch's over the
people she loves while she is alive in their hearts.

I have been thinking a lot about Sara and her death lately. A man in our Church, Pat, died and as I was
sitting at the funeral I just kept thinking, I wonder what Pat and Sara are taling about. I wonder if Sara is
showing Pat all of her favorite spots in heaven. I wonder if Sara met him at the gates and said welcome
home. I wonder if they talk about how we are serving God right now, or maybe how we are not serving
God right now. I wonder if they could speak to us, what they would say. Get busy, invite more to come,
It will be worth it all, you can do more, we are ok, God is awesome, Heaven is beautiful. I don't really know
what they would say to us, but the memory of Sara always urges me to do more for God and to live life to it's fullest.
Sunday night @ 1:00 in the morning I got a call to inform me that a Senior football player that had gone to camp with us
this year from Sprinfield Mo. was killed in a car accident. I guess this is why all of Sara's memories came rushing back.
The Father of this man was one of the speakers at camp and is a Pastor in Springfield. He was a great kid just like
Sara, involved in school, church, and so much more.
God is still in control even when we don't understand. I just want everyone who reads this to realize that life is
short and if you have not given your life to God you need to. If you have given your life to God then I ask are
you living life to it's fullest, are you completely sold out for God.
Linda and family,
Thank you for this web site. I just wanted you to know that I still think of your wonderful daughter and she
still inspires me to do more for God. Thank you for the money you donated for the carpet in the youth bulding.

The memories I have of Sara are when she was a child. I was not fortunate

is at Christmas time when she was four years old. It is picture of her
looking up with hope and excitement just beaming from her face. It is
exactly how you would expect a child to look at that wonderful time of the
year. This picture is treasured by both my mother and myself and serves to
remind us of what a special little girl she was. I know we will see her in

I can honestly say that speaking at your funeral was the hardest thing that
I have ever done in my life. I remember just minutes before the funeral
started I had to go in the rest room and just ball my eyes out. I told God
I can't do this, I don't want to do this, I won't do this. God simply told
me I will do this.
Your tragedy has brought me closer together with God and I realize life is
short and that I must spend every moment I can living for Him 100% a total
commitment.
Your death has also spoken to many teenagers all across the world. Your
testimony was shared at every youth rally on our "New York" trip the story
of your life changed many lives.
I still get tears in my eye when I think about your death. Thank you for
sharing your plans, your dreams, your smile, your friends, your testimony,
your life. This world, and this youth group could use some more Sara's. I
will see you when I get to heaven.
To her family:
Thank you for this website, and thank you for allowing me the opportunity

you were someone to watch and look-up to. You lived your life as a living
testimony of what God had done for you on Calvary. I am so proud of you.
To the family of Sara, you are all in my thoughts and prayers. May God fill
the void you are feeling right now with His love.
I praise God for the 13 or 14 souls saved at the funderal and the 2 more that
were added a few weeks ago.
In His Love,
Amy

Charles and I knew Denise much better than Sara, but she was the child
that always had a smile on her face, and the one who loved her sister very
much. She watched everything Denise did, with that quiet grin of hers. I
cannot imagine how it feels to lose a daughter/sister. To the Kirkland
Family, we still pray for you often. What a party we will have in HEAVEN!

Sara, You were an inspiration to all. No maybe not always verbally, but
to each one of us who witnessed your strong walk with God and your
steadfast faithfulness, you were a blessing. You had such a pure heart
and wonderful leadership qualities. I'm gonna miss you as a leader in the
youth group but your legacy will live on. The day of your funeral I
promised myself i would make my senior year count for God and do everything
I could to reach others and build up our class because I knew thats what
you would have wanted and I realized life is short and this is my time.
"Live every moment; leave nothing to chance." One day when God decides He
wants me home, I'll look forward to seeing you there!

To Sara's family:
This was our first year as Awana Scholarship Camp Directors.
Little did we know on Saturday, June 3rdthat there would be 2 funerals
that some of our campersand staff would go to on Friday the 9th. We
had theAyotte parents as Varsity counselors and their 3 girlsas campers
this year. Mr. Ayotte's mother passed away during the first part of the
week. All the Varsity kids tried to comfort the family with hugs and
prayers throughout the week. Then Thursday morning we got the message
about Sara. I can't tell you the tears, emotions, and soul searching
that went on the rest of camp by all the Varsity group. We all asked
"why Sara--she was so sweet?". My daughter Holly said Sara was always
so nice to her. It was a camp we will never forget because these 2
deaths seemed to really impact the group and cause them to grow closer to
God. Many looked at their own lives and wondered what would be said of
them if they died today. We will miss Sara so much. I know God will use
Sara's life to teach many more lessons to many more people. We just
need to let God work in each of our lives. I know God is going to
amaze us again and again as He uses Sara to teach us, mold us, shape us
and grow us into the people He wants us to be.
Thank you for sharing Sara with us through the Awana program. We will
never forget the fun we had in Chicago in 1999 when she was part of our
team. I noticed one of the teen pictures you have posted is from that
year and Holly is on Sara's far right(our left as you look at the screen).
Our prayers are with you.

I was not a good friend of Sara's, more of an acquaintance. I saw her at
church almost every Wednesday and Sunday. I never really talked to her
until the Sunday before the accident. We were at drama practice, and she
was filling in for someone else in this skit we were doing. I remember just
sitting there and thinking to myself how much of an inspiration to me she is,
and how I wish I had enough strength to live my life like she was living hers.
And that next Wednesday after the accident, the skit we practiced just kept
playing over and over in my mind, and I didn't believe it was true. I was
very upset about losing someone that would have been a great leader and a
great inspiration to me and to to others on the New York trip. On the trip
I would sit there and listen to the testimonies of the people that really
knew her, and it would inspire me. My life has drastically changed since she
passed away. It has changed for the better. I am getting my life into order
and my priorities straight. And I owe it all to her, and what she did while
she was here. Sara, even though we never really talked, I looked up to you.
You were like a role model for me. Thank you. I owe it all to you and God.
I will see you when my time comes.

I had the priveledge of working with Sara in the youth department
at church. She was one of those teenagers that maybe wasn't a leader
verbally but a leader by actions. She was never easily persuaded and
always stood strong. I would have to say this has been one of the
hardest things I have experienced. My prayer and comfort is knowing
that her testimony is leading others to Christ. I pray that this will
rock the world of our teenagers and to teenagers around the world. Life
is short and it is time to get serious and do something that is for eternity.
Sara is missed by me and by our youth group but we know that God's plan
is perfect and that we will she her again. That is the hope and comfort
we have to hold on to.
Love and Prayers,
Mandy

TO Linda Jean,
I am so sorry for your loss. We have been dear friends since 1965
and felt as though we were like sisters sometimes instead of friends.
Sara was a sweet girl and loved by all of us in the Rogers family.
I remember when I had just started at the Texas Department of Transportaion
and we all were at the Christmas Party in 1988. After the party we all
went to a restraunt there on McCart and talked about old times. Sara and
Robert became close from that moment on.
Even though the Robert and Sara went their different ways Sara always
had a special place in our family just like you Linda Jean and your sister
Martha Ann and your dear parents Wanda and Tom.
Your family were always a Christian influence to our family when we were
younger. Sara reminded me of you Linda when you were growing up. Very
independent and sure of what she wanted. Especially smart just like you
were and still are.
May God comfort you and your family during this time and richly bless
all of your dear family members as he has always done in the past.
Sara will be missed but never forgotton because she was a special young
lady that God placed on this earth for a short time. Sara was one of the
sweetest girls I had the pleasure of meeting in a long time especially
here in this generation.
I know there is a big reunion going on right now with her and your mother
Wanda. I beleive that very soon we will be seeing all of our loved ones
that have gone on before. I beleive that our Savior Jesus Christ is just
about to come and take all those who serve and love him home to be with him.
God has a special plan for each individual he puts down here. And I don't
think that Sara's death was in vain. I beleive through this Website that
her life will touch many people of all ages and many I think will come to
Christ through knowing that life is just a vapor. All of us are here for a
little while. What we do with our lives does matter to all those we come in
contact with.
Linda Jean you and your family have always had a dear place in our hearts
and the friendship and fellowship experienced in the past will never be forgotton.
Dearly,
Donna (Vandervoort) Rogers

Sara was a great person. I will never forget the Christmas parties
that we went to every year and going to Ashley's with her grandparents
and mother afterwards. When she dated Robert, my little brother,
she became a sister to me. I'll always remember acting stupid just
to see her roll her eyes. I'll never forget you Sara.

went to TGIFridays and stared at the hot waiters!! :) I think she

Well, it has been six weeks since the death of Sara and
everyday that goes by I think what her and Darel would be
doing, even if it was a phonecall or Sara coming by the house.
Today I realized what a bond the two of them had and what an
impact something like this could put on a family. I just pray
that her family and loved ones are coping and can have joyful
thoughts. The web site was a wonderful idea and I am glad that
we can still talk about Sara with open hearts...thanks again!
